Created by mother daughter team Ayoka Chenzira and HaJ, HERadventure is an interactive scifi/fantasy film that combines live action filmmaking, 3D environments and gameplay to explore new avenues of storytelling.
Worlds away on the planet Xamtha, a corrosive Dark Force festers and grows, threatening to eliminate the native population and destroy the entire multiverse. Join HER in a battle to save a dying world against an evil force. Along the way you must collect clues to find Zira, Her’s sister, discover the source of the Dark Force, and save two civilizations.
The film was photographed in 4.5 days . Filmed in Atlanta, Georgia, the live action part of HERadventure was shot in a green screen environment. The film has over 350 special effects. The game engine used is Blender. Post-production took approximately one year.
Ayoka Chenzira (Ayo) is a filmmaker and interactive digital media artist and who is a recognized pioneer in African- American independent cinema. She is a graduate of New York University (B.F.A. Film), Columbia University Teachers College (M.A. in Education) and the Georgia Institute of Technology (Ph.D. Digital Media).
HaJ is an Emmy-nominated film, video and interactive media producer who is the creator and founder of Urban Chameleon Media, which creates unique and impactful niche media content for broad audiences. HaJ has developed her craft through working at Sony Pictures as part of the development team, which produced the feature films, Jarhead, Stuart Little, Bewitched and the Academy Award nominated Memoirs of a Geisha.
